- Olivia Salamone, News Reporter
WARNER Bros. has erased nearly all traces of the Cartoon Network website from the internet, leading fans of other brands owned by the media giant to panic that their favorite sites could be next.
Visitors to the Cartoon Network site are now met with a pop-up message directing them to sign up for Max, Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming service.
"Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required)," the message reads in part
People can still access their favorite shows on the TV channel and apps.
When users close the popup, it directs them to the Cartoon Network channel on Max.
The network addressed the shutdown in a statement saying, in part, "We are focusing on the Cartoon Network shows and social media where we find consumers are the most engaged and there is a meaningful potential for growth," a spokesperson for Cartoon Network said, per The Hollywood Reporter.
